The Banking Ombudsman Scheme is advertising for two exciting new roles. 


Deputy Banking Ombudsman - Prevention

  • Are you an engaging communicator?
  • Are you good at mining data and telling a story?
  • Do you want to help organisations and customers avoid complaints?  

We have created a new role for a Deputy Banking Ombudsman – Prevention, to work with the Banking Ombudsman and the Deputy Banking Ombudsman – Resolution to develop and enhance our role in preventing complaints and raising awareness.  As an integral member the leadership team, this Deputy has oversight of corporate services for our small team. 

Ideally, you will have a tertiary qualification in one or more of the following: commerce, law, communications or public policy, as well as knowledge of banking or complaint resolution.

You will have experience in:

  • production of a range of excellent written communications appropriate to the audience
  • use of different media, including digital technology
  • strategic communications
  • engaging with a range of stakeholders
  • operational management experience, including HR, finance, IT support, risk and compliance

Executive Manager

An opportunity exists for an experienced Executive Manager to manage our office, provide executive assistance to the Banking Ombudsman and Board, and to oversee technical systems. 

You will have experience in:

  • ensuring an organisation has the operational assistance and resources required
  • developing and maintaining robust procedures and policies
  • troubleshooting and solving minor technological problems
  • providing excellent support to senior management and boards
  • producing high-quality documents including reports, graphics and presentations
  • enhancing and engaging in organisational communication and culture
